12 slices of Milton's Whole Grain Bread
8 oz cream cheese
1/2-3/4 c chopped fresh herbs: parsley, chives, thyme, tarragon all
work well
Zest from 1 lemon
1/2 garlic clove, minced
Salt & pepper
8 oz Olive Tapenade
Allow the cream cheese to soften to room temperature. Mix with the herbs, lemon zest, garlic, and salt and pepper. Toast the Milton's bread, spread the cheese on top and cut into quarters. Top with olive tapenade and any left over lemon zest for color.
Variations: Try topping the toasts with sliced tomatoes, roasted red peppers; or oven
roasted red onions.
