in Meet Milton's, What's New

This has been a big year for Milton’s! We’ve been busy in our bakery crafting a fresh new look for our crackers.  In addition, we’ve baked up some fresh and delicious new cracker flavors.  But don’t worry, we didn’t change our original recipes…they are still the same delicious crackers!

When we set out to create a new look for Milton’s, we wanted to come up with something special.  We wanted our packaging to better communicate our craft baking heritage and what we believe in.  We came up with many different designs, and asked a lot of people – including some of you, our consumers – what they thought.  We realized who better to represent our company than a baker?  So we asked an artisan wood-etch illustrator to design a special baker to pay tribute to our many hard working bakers who use our special recipes, natural ingredients, and serious skills to bake our signature fresh breads and crackers.

While we improved the look of the packaging, we also took steps to improve the things you can’t see that we feel make a difference. Our new cracker boxes use 35% post consumer fiber, and are printed with vegetable based inks on printing presses that consume less energy and water – all of which is better for the environment.

We don’t believe that healthy food has to be bland and boring.  Instead we at Milton’s go against the grain to deliver nutritious baked goods that are artisan-crafted for surprisingly delicious flavor.  Our recipes are blended with the perfect combination of grains and all natural ingredients, and are small batch baked so you can enjoy delicious, wholesome goodness in every bite.  We carried this into our new cracker flavors. These new and unique flavors are great complements to our already delicious assortment of crackers, and deliver the superior taste you’ve come to expect from Milton’s.  Here is a quick description of each.  Expect to see them soon in your neighborhood store.Corn Bread

Corn Bread Flavored Baked Snack Crackers:  This flavor has already developed a cult following among our friends and families here at Milton’s.  These light, savory, and crunchy crackers have a delicious corn bread flavor that is extremely addicting.  We love to pair them with chili at football parties, and one diehard Milton’s fan even puts them on her ice cream!Whole Wheat Graham

Whole Wheat Graham Baked Snack Crackers:  We’ve taken a healthier twist with on the classic graham cracker.  Baked with Whole Wheat flour, a gram of fiber per serving, and a hint of honey – you can feel good about snacking on these delicious crackers.  Great for mini s’mores, ice cream toppings, and dipped in peanut butter.

Crispy Sea Salt

Crispy Sea Salt Gourmet Crackers:  Looks can be deceiving.  Our Crispy Sea Salt crackers are deceptively simple, yet deliciously addicting.  With their lightly salty and buttery flavor, these crispy crackers are actually the lowest sodium crackers that we bake!  Sea Salt is more flavorful than regular salt, so you get more taste with less sodium.  Great paired with your favorite soups, cheeses, and even chocolate for a sweet and salty flavor.

We are excited to bring you these new flavors, a new and improved look, and the same great taste you have come to expect from Milton’s.  With 2010 coming to an end, our plans for 2011 are even more exciting!  Stay tuned…

I used to buy Milton’s bread at Sam’s. They say they no longer carry it. Where else in Greenville, SC can I purchase the Milton’s Bread? It has been the only bread I buy for the past 20 years.

Dear Marlene,
Thank you for writing regarding our Milton’s Multi-Grain Bread. We appreciate your story telling us how much you enjoy our Multi-Grain Bread! Consumer satisfaction is most important to us, and we sincerely enjoy hearing that from our customers.

At your local Sam’s Club in Rapid City (@1020 N. La Crosse), we currently sell our new Multi-Whole Grain Bread. Milton’s Multi-Whole Grain is lower in sweetness, higher in fiber and 13g whole grain per serving. Milton’s has not discontinued our original Multi-Grain Bread; however, it is not available at Sam’s Club at this time.

Fortunately, you are in a region where it is carried at other retailers. In Greenville you should be able to find it at Costco @ 1021 Woodruff Rd and Trader Joe’s @ 59 Woodruff Industrial Lane.

I hope this information helps you locate our product in your area. If you have any further questions please let us know.

I live in Katy, TX 77450 and would like to know where I can purchase these crackers. Some friends of ours, from IL left them with us and we don’t know where they purchased them. Help! They were wonderful with a brie on Christmas.

Thanks

Hi Joanne,

Thank you so much for contacting Milton’s! Do you remember which flavor you had? Our Original Multi-Grain flavor is available in your nearby Costco in a large 4-pack and is a great value. Our other flavors are a bit harder to find in Texas, but we are working on expanding our distribution more and more next year. Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
The Milton’s Bakers

I have been buying the blueberry bread and Costco, but they have stopped carrying it. I have checked your site for other locations and there don’t seem to be any in Ohio. How can I get some blueberry bread? My family is hooked on it!

Thanks.

Unfortunately, Costco has recently made the decision to no longer carry our Blueberry Bread in the Midwest Region. At this time, it is only available in the San Diego/AZ/NV Costco markets and we do not foresee expansion into other markets.

We encourage you to fill out a Product Request form at your local warehouse on your next visit. Although we cannot predict it’s return, perhaps it may come back because of customer requests. We have many loyal customers asking for it!

We appreciate your taking the time to contact us and hope you will try some of our other products in the near future.

My daughter and her husband both have cancer . recently they spent three weeks at Moore Cancer Center at UCSD. They spent most of their free time at Milton’s. Knowing how much i love poppy seeds they sent me a couple of your wonderful poppy seed pastries. They remind me of something my grandmother made.
My question is—-what do you call it? i have poppy seeds between every tooth and wish i lived closer so I could frequent your restaurant. How about opening in Tucson,AZ?
Thanks,
Alma

Our thoughts are with your daughter and her husband and we wish them well in their treatment of and recovery from cancer.

We are thankful that they were able to experience Milton’s Restaurant and our delicious breads. In the earlier days of the restaurant, our customers loved the bread so much that they wanted to take it home with them…thus began Milton’s Baking Company. You can read more of our story here: http://www.miltonsbaking.com/our-story

We now offer a line of delicious breads and crackers that you can find distributed in several retail locations in Tucson (such as Costco, Safeway and Albertsons to name a few). I would suggest starting with our Original Multi-Grain Varieties of bread and cracker products since you mentioned how much you love poppy seeds.

Thank you again for writing and I hope this information helps you locate our product in your area. And when you find a new favorite, please let us know! We would love to hear the next chapter in your story as a Milton’s fan.

We really Love your multi grain crackers! We eat them with canned fish or fresh salmon or cream cheese mustard and a slice of very dry salami. There are hundreds of great combinations. Go where ever your imagination will take you! Even fresh fruit with some cream cheese is delicious. They are also great with vegetables, tomato, figs…….etc. etc.
We get them at Costco or at Trader Joe’s.
