Recycle Your Bread Bags!

Did you know you can recycle your Milton’s bread bags?  It’s true!  At participating grocery stores, you can recycle your Milton’s bread bags along with your plastic grocery bags.  In addition, there are lots of other fun and interesting uses for your used Milton’s bread bags…here are a few of our favorite ideas from fellow bread bag recyclers.

  1. Trash bag to keep in your car
  2. Store home made baked goods
  3. Sick bag for emergency use in the back of the car with the kids
  4. To collect berries and vegetables in your garden
  5. Cut into strips and use for the tail of a kite
  6. Use as a freezer bag
  7. Use for picking up (you know what) when out walking your dog
  8. Use as a lunch bag
  9. Put shoes or dirty laundry inside when traveling
  10. Put over plant pots to aid germination
  11. Store balls of wool or yarn
  12. Turn into book covers to make your paperbacks last longer
  13. Filled with soil – growbags for smaller plants
  14. An alternative (and reusable) gift bag
  15. To protect your matches and kindling when you go camping
  16. Collecting seashells and pebbles instead of making your pockets all damp and sandy
  17. Marinating meat or vegetables
  18. Use to cover your apples on the tree to protect from blemishes
  19. Blow up and use as a mold for papier mache
  20. Giant water balloons
  21. Fill up with icing, snip off a corner, and use it for piping
  22. Parachute for a toy
  23. Storing small toys
  24. A windsock
  25. Take to the market to buy your fruit and vegetables in
  26. Smash your toasts, crackers, and cookies for bread crumbs or ice cream toppings
  27. Use as bag to collect other bags for recycling
  28. Use for coating meat or veggies. Add seasoned flour or bread crumbs, chopped meat or veggies, and shake!
